A Common Branding Platform to be formed to promote Bangladesh to the world

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, January 24: It has been decided to form a common branding platform to promote Bangladesh to the global market in all fields including industry and trade.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the committee titled 'Branding Bangladesh Abroad' on preparation, planning, implementation and monitoring of Bangladesh's potential challenges in transitioning from a least developed country to a developing country. The meeting was jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority on Sunday.

Foreign Minister Dr. A.K. Abdul Momen and Advisor to the Prime Minister on Private Industry and Investment, Salman F Rahman MP, attended the meeting. The meeting was also attended by Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority, Md. Sirajul Islam, and Foreign Secretary (Senior Secretary) Masud Bin Momen.

Officials from various government agencies, Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Commerce, Bangladesh Economic Development Zone Authority, Bangladesh Export Processing Authority, Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation, ICT Department, Economic Relations Department, Public Private Partnership Authority and Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also present at the meeting.

Representatives of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), Federation of Bangladesh Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), and Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGME) also attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Foreign Secretary outlined various aspects of economic diplomacy and the specific goals of his ministry (increasing foreign direct investment and creating diversification, increasing exports and diversification, quality services, exporting human resources and skills, technology transfer). In the meeting, discussions on creating a roadmap based on the region were held.
