ACI ACI fined Tk 1 crore for manufacturing substandard hand sanitiser
Dhaka, October 12: ACI Limited has been fined Tk 1 crore for manufacturing substandard Savlon hand sanitisers.
The mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) imposed the fine on Sunday (October 11) night after raiding the company's depot in Mirpur.
The operation was led by RAB headquarters' Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam.
He said that during the operation, methanol was found in 3 batches of 25 mg tubes of Savlon Instant Hand Sanitiser.
The company has been fined Tk 1 crore for marketing and stockpiling substandard hand sanitisers.
These hand sanitisers made by the company will be tested.
This Savlon product is made at ACI's own factory in Konabari, Gazipur.
