Bangladesh Banks Bangladesh: Banking time increases
Dhaka, May 23, 2021: The central bank has extended the time limit for bank transactions to a limited extent with the restrictions announced by the government.
As before, the transactions in the bank will continue till May 30 in accordance with the health rules. At this time the bank transaction will be from 10 am to 2:30 pm. However, other ancillary work of the bank will continue till 4 pm. A circular in this regard has been issued by the Department of Off-site Supervision of Bangladesh Bank on Sunday (May 23).
A circular sent to the chief executives of all scheduled banks operating in the country said, "Following the notification announced by the Cabinet Division, limited banking activities will be conducted from Monday (May 24) to May 30 as per the following schedule." At this time the transaction will be from 10 am to 2:30 pm and the ancillary activities after the transaction will be performed till 4 pm.
‘Other instructions given by Bangladesh Bank in DOS Circular Letter No. 15 issued on 13 April 2021 will remain unchanged. The directive was issued on the authority of Section 45 of the Banking Companies Act, 1991. Earlier, bank transactions were conducted from 10 am to 2 pm.
