Bangladesh's per capita income will be $4,000 in 2026: Quader

Dhaka, January 11: Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that the per capita income of Bangladeshis will be 4,000 dollars in 2026.

He said, "Today our per capita income is two and a half thousand dollars. And International Monetary Fund or IMF said in the latest report, Bangladesh is now the 35th economic country in the world. The way things are going, our per capita income will rise to USD 4,000 in 2026."

He said these in his welcome speech at the discussion meeting organized by Awami League on Tuesday (January 10) on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's homecoming day. Awami League President Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting organized at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.

Obaidul Quader said, "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is struggling for the economic liberation of Bangladesh. Going ahead with the plan to make Bangladesh a developed, prosperous country. Allah created two people in Bangladesh. One for political freedom and another for economic freedom. Bangabandhu brought independence. Sheikh Hasina is struggling for economic liberation. Going forward with the plan to make Bangladesh a developed, prosperous country."

The General Secretary of Awami League said, "We definitely have a commitment to the people of the country. Bangabandhu's dream of Sonar Bangla must be rebuilt. Bangabandhu's ideal state should be built. An ideal nation should be built. We will build a smart Bangladesh along the highway of development under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, the leader of the liberation. That is our oath."

He said, "Sheikh Hasina is fighting for freedom today. He is moving ahead with Vision 2041, 2100 plan to make Bangladesh a developed and prosperous country. Bangladesh is a wonder to the whole world today because of the inauguration of Padma Bridge, Metrorail, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Tunnel, hundreds of bridges and hundreds of roads in one day."
