Sanctions Bangladesh will not buy products from countries if put in sanctions list: Quader
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 8 December 2023: Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that Bangladesh will not buy any products from those countries that impose sanctions. He said this at a press conference at the Dhanmondi political office of the Awami League president on Thursday.
Obaidul Quader said that the United States cannot give any unilateral decision regarding Bangladesh. The European Union has tensions with the United States.
He said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is walking on the path of election to protect the continuity of the constitution. Claiming that the meeting with the Jatiya Party was not a cover-up, the Bridge Minister said that talks are going on with everyone to unitedly resist the anti-election activities.
Reiterating the old stand regarding rebels or independent candidates, Awami League General Secretary said, there will be no obstacle from Awami League against those who will hold independent elections. No one has any objection if independent candidates are elected by popular vote.
Criticizing BNP, he said, BNP is getting desperate as the elections are approaching. Their secret targets can be even more sinister. The target of BNP's brutal politics is the police, common people and many others.
He said, in the morning, a truck carrying chickens was set on fire in Sirajganj. As of Wednesday (December 6), 600 cars, 10 trains have been set on fire. I will be united with the people to face the conspiracy of BNP.
Awami League presidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak, joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif and AFM Bahauddin Nashim, organizing secretary Mirza Azam and BM Mozammel Haque were present in the press conference.
