Dhaka, August 24: Russia's ambassador in Dhaka, Aleksandr Mantytsky, said that his country has offered Bangladesh to import crude and refined oil, and Bangladesh has to decide in this case. Discussions are going on between the two countries. The ambassador said this at a round table discussion at the Russian Embassy in Dhaka on Wednesday (August 24).

In the roundtable discussion, the world has been going through an economic crisis since 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. At the beginning of this year, Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine. Which is alleged to have had a major impact on the world food supply.

The ambassador said, "We are concerned about the global food crisis. That is why Russia has taken initiative to keep the food supply from Ukraine normal."

However, claiming that Russia is not responsible for the global economic crisis, the ambassador said that Russia did not impose any kind of economic sanctions, rather Europe and the United States imposed sanctions. That is why no one can blame Russia for this crisis.

Mentioning that discussions are going on with Bangladesh on the issue of food import from Russia, he said that Russia will help in food security.
