Dhaka, December 19: Prime Minister's Advisor on Private Industry and Investment Salman F. Rahman said, "The dollar crisis in the country's market will soon be over to a large extent. Because Bangladesh Bank has taken several steps in this regard. Besides, due to hundi (illegal transactions), remittances are coming in a little less in the country. The government is working on hundi. Hopefully, the reduction in illegal transactions (hundi) will increase the flow of remittances through legitimate channels."

Salman F Rahman said these to the journalists after a courtesy meeting with Indian High Commissioner Pranay Kumar Verma appointed to Dhaka at his office in Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) building in Agargaon on Sunday (December 18) morning.

Salman F. Rahman said that the first meeting on Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) will be held soon to increase trade, investment, services, economic and mutual relations with India.

Stating that development of infrastructure has started on both sides to strengthen the border market, he said that the impact of the reduction in the price of energy and daily necessities in the international market has also affected the domestic market. In the meantime, the prices of several daily commodities have started to come down.

Meanwhile, the Indian High Commissioner said, "Discussions were held on how to further strengthen the existing historical relations between the two friendly countries, especially trade and investment cooperation. Apart from this, the meeting also discussed about economic, trade and increasing the capacity of border haats and ports to improve relations between the two countries."
