ECNEC approved 8 projects at a cost of Rs 10,602 crore

Dhaka, November 24, 2020: The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved seven projects at a cost of Taka 10,602.23 crore. Of this, the government will provide Tk 6,459.28 crore and foreign loan Tk 4,242.98 crore.

The projects were approved on Tuesday (November 24th) under the chairmanship of Prime Minister and ECNEC Chairperson Sheikh Hasina. The Prime Minister attended the ECNEC meeting via video conference from Ganobhaban and from the NEC Conference Room at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital.

According to them, among the projects approved today are the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock's project 'Expansion of improved varieties of grasses for the development of animal nutrition and transfer of appropriate technology'. It will cost 116 crore 63 lakh rupees. The project will be implemented between April this year and March 2024.

The Prime Minister's Office's 'Khurushkul Special Shelter' project will cost Tk 1,333.61 crore. The project will be implemented from July this year to June 2023.

The project of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives will cost Tk 2,170.99 crore. Of this, the government will provide Tk 743.06 crore and the World Bank will provide a loan of Tk 1,536 crore. The project will be implemented between October this year and June 2025.

The cost of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges 'Weeker Phase-1: Jhenaidah-Jessore Highway (N-6) Development' project has been estimated at Tk 4,017 crore. Of this, the government will provide Tk 1,482.50 crore and the World Bank will provide a loan of Tk 2,605.75 crore. The project will be implemented between October this year and December 2025.
