Dubai, March 10: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and the Dubai International Chamber of Commerce and Industry to increase trade and investment between the UAE and Bangladesh.

According to a media release issued on Wednesday, the MoU signing event was held at the Leadership Pavilion of Dubai Expo 2020 on Tuesday in the presence of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed bin Rashid Al Makdum.

FBCCI President Md. Jasim Uddin and Dubai International Chamber Chairman Sultan Ahmed bin Sulaiman signed on behalf of their respective organizations.

The FBCCI president said Dubai and Bangladesh could complement each other in boosting bilateral trade. There is huge potential for entrepreneurs in Dubai in the port and logistics sectors of Bangladesh.

He said that by investing in Bangladesh, they could increase their exports to other South Asian countries. At the same time, by increasing trade relations with Dubai, Bangladesh can also enter the CIS countries and the African market.

Jasim Uddin hoped that the signing of the MoU between the FBCCI and the Dubai International Chamber would play a significant role in strengthening this possibility.
