Own Correspondent, Dhaka, June 1: The FBCCI, the apex body of traders, has sought special loan repayment facility till December this year (2022).

The president of the organization Md. Jasim Uddin said that he wanted this facility due to the global economic downturn. He said this to reporters after a special meeting with Bangladesh Bank on Tuesday (May 31).

Jasim Uddin said, "We have requested the Governor of Bangladesh Bank to set up a special fund for long-term loans in our country's banks. Because long time financing is very important for business."

"We have sought further increase in remittance incentives. A remittance fighter will send remittances from outside the country. He/she will be encouraged if he/she is given some benefits, even though all the benefits, including CIP, are being given to the remittance senders," he added.

After the meeting, Bangladesh Bank Executive Director and Spokesperson Sirajul Islam said, "We will consider the issues of FBCCI. However, no decision is going to be announced now. In addition, the FBCCI has requested to increase incentives for remittances. However, Bangladesh Bank will not take any decision on that alone. This issue is related to the government. The decision will be announced after considering all the aspects."
