Foreign Funding Foreign funding in projects is beneficial for economy: Cooperative Minister
Dhaka, Jan 25: Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperative Minister Md. Tajul Islam mentioned that the Directorate of Local Government Engineering has played a role in the development of various infrastructures including rural roads in the country.
He said that the quality of various projects carried out by LGED has now increased a lot. As a result, various facilities of the city can now be easily delivered to the people of the village. The contribution of the local government engineering department to the socio-economic development of the country is therefore undeniable.
Minister Tajul Islam said these things in an exchange meeting on Thursday.
The minister said that due to the improvement of the communication system, many opportunities have been created for the youth to earn income on the digital platform through freelancing in the villages. This has reduced the tendency of people to move towards the city and the rural economy is getting stronger.
In order to maintain the quality of various works of the local government engineering department, the minister said that half of the country's upazila level laboratories have been set up, and the rest of the upazilas will be set up. So that the quality of various works is correct.
At this time, he instructed to increase the load capacity of various roads in the village and said that as a result of the strengthening of the village economy, there is now a trend of heavy vehicles moving on the roads. So, thinking about the future, we have to build infrastructure and roads accordingly.
However, sometimes while taking the cost reduction policy, the local government minister emphasizes the importance of not compromising the quality of work for a small amount of money.
