Import and export to remain closed for 4 days at Benapole during Durga Puja

Dhaka, October 6: Import-export trade will be closed for four consecutive days through Benapole land port on the occasion of Durga Puja. However, goods will be unloaded at Benapole Custom House and Port during this holiday and the passage of passport holders between Bangladesh and India will be normal.

Karthik Chakraborty, general secretary of the C&F Agents Staff Welfare Association of India's Petrapole Port, told Jago News that all import-export trade with Benapole Port will be closed from October 12 to October 15 on the occasion of Durga Puja. Import-export trade will resume from the morning of October 16.

Emdadul Haque Lata, general secretary of the Benapole C&F Agents Association, said in a letter from the C&F on the other hand that the import-export trade would be closed for four consecutive days due to the Durga Puja holiday through the port of Petrapole.

Saifur Rahman Mamun, revenue officer of Benapole Customs Checkpost Cargo Branch, told Jago News that due to the Durga Puja holiday on the other side, import and export between the two countries will be suspended from October 12 to October 15. Even if import-export is stopped, loading-unloading and customs work will continue in the port. Imports and exports between the two countries will resume from the morning of October 16.

Benapole Immigration Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Raju Ahmed told Jago News that even if the transport of goods through Benapole is closed due to the Puja holiday, the passage of passport holders with India will remain normal.
