Indian onion will enter the market before Ramadan

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 25 February 2024: Fifty thousand metric tons of onions from India are coming to the country soon. Onion will enter the market before Ramadan.

Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said these things after the chief guest's speech at the 'Rangunia Samity, Dhaka' reception, host and meeting-2024' in the LD hall of Jatiya Sangsad Bhawan premises on Saturday.

He said, "In the election manifesto, we said that the price of goods should be within the purchasing power of people, that is our priority. We have been working with that priority since the beginning of the journey of this government and the government will take all measures against the dishonest syndicates in the market."

The foreign minister said, "Unscrupulous Lovatoor Syndicate in the market increases the prices of various products on various pretexts. We have seen that one and a half lakh eggs were recovered from a cold storage. In the past, onion crisis was created. Again, when onions were imported from abroad, the market "Onions have been sold, then the rotten onions stored in storage have been thrown away. Our government will take all measures against such syndicates."

On the occasion, the leaders of the association handed over a memento to Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud, son of Rangunia, Member of Parliament for Chittagong-7 Constituency. Later, the minister unveiled the association's 'Gumai' souvenir along with the organizers and guests.
