New investors coming to Bangladesh stock market

The participation of men and women and all types of domestic and foreign investors in the market has increased. Over one lakh new investors have come in the market in the last one month.

According to the Central Depository of Bangladesh Limited (CDBL), the Beneficiary Owners (BO) account stood at 23.75 lakh 85 as of November 5, up from 22.84 lakh 602 on 30 September. In other words, the BO account has increased by 1 lakh 273 in the last one month.

According to sources, the number of both male and female investors has increased in the last one month. With that, the number of expatriates and foreign investors has increased. The number of company investors has also increased.

At present, male investors have 17 lakh 55 thousand 215 BO accounts. At the end of September, this number was 16 lakh 7 thousand 613. In other words, the number of male investors has increased by 6,602 in a month.

On the other hand, at present the BO accounts of women investors are 6 lakh 17 thousand 325. At the end of September this number was 5 lakh 92 thousand 606. As a result, the number of women investors has increased to 23,519.
Meanwhile, the company has 13,535 BO accounts. At the end of September this number was 13,383. As a result, the company's BO account has increased to 152.

Reviewing the data of individual investors, it is seen that at present there are 22 lakh 39 thousand 403 BO accounts in the name of domestic investors. Which was 21 lakh 46 thousand 345 at the end of September. In other words, the BO accounts of domestic investors have increased to 91,056.

On the other hand, at present there are 1 lakh 32 thousand 138 BO accounts in the name of expatriate and foreign investors. At the end of September this number was 1 lakh 23 thousand 64. In other words, the number of expatriate and foreign BO accounts has increased to 9,063.
