Dhaka, December 7: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina formally inaugurated the Bangladesh Special Economic Zone (Japanese Economic Zone) under the Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority (BEZA) at Araihazaar in Narayanganj.

The Prime Minister announced the inauguration by joining the programme through video conference from Gana Bhaban on Tuesday (December 6).

The Prime Minister said that Bangladesh is the most attractive place for investment. Because we provide all facilities. One-stop service for various services and approval of services for investors has been introduced. Although there are various complications, we are solving them. On that, Bangladesh is a fusion of the East and the Orient. It is well connected from here. If you invest in Bangladesh, you have the opportunity to transport goods by sea, air and rail.

She said, due to our geographical situation, Bangladesh can be a market of more than 300 crore people. There are 17 crore people in Bangladesh. I hope that Japan's initiative will interest others as well.

The Prime Minister said this while officially inaugurating the Bangladesh Special Economic Zone (Japanese Economic Zone) under the jurisdiction of the Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority (BEZA) at Araihazar in Narayanganj.

She joined the programme through a video conference from Ganobhaban on Tuesday (December 6) morning.

The Prime Minister said that foreign investments are coming to our economic zones. Besides Japan, many other countries including India, China, Saudi Arabia have expressed interest. Those who come will give opportunities in the economic zone as they want. They can develop as they wish.

She said, Bangladesh is the most attractive place for investment. There is a nice atmosphere here. Because we provide all facilities. Narayanganj MP Nazrul Islam Babu, Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority Sheikh Yusuf Harun, Japanese Ambassador Ito Naoki, Japan Sumitomo Corporation President and CEO Masa Uki Hideo and others were present at Narayanganj.
