Bangladesh-China There is no Chinese debt trap in Bangladesh: China's Ambassador
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, May 12: China's ambassador to Dhaka Li Jiming said there is no Chinese debt trap in Bangladesh.
Li Jiming made the remarks while talking to reporters after a meeting with Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen at his office on Wednesday (May 11).
Li said, "I have discussed with Dr. Momen about the debt trap of other countries. However, I would like to assure you that there is no Chinese debt trap in Bangladesh."
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Li Jiming met with the Foreign Minister to discuss issues of mutual interest, including Rohingya repatriation, multilateral cooperation, infrastructural development cooperation and repatriation of Bangladeshis stranded in China.
