The committee thinks that it has not been possible to bring all the ships of the country under the survey yet. If this is possible, the actual number of vessels will be known and the revenue will increase. Therefore, the committee recommended to bring all the ships of the country under online survey and registration in a short period of time.
It is learned that the parliamentary committee wants to see Chittagong seaport in '3D' model. The port authorities have been asked to take appropriate action for this purpose.
Relevant sources said that in the previous meeting of the committee, Chairman Major (Retd.) Rafiqul Islam raised the Bir Uttam issue. He called for the preparation of a three-dimensional model of Chittagong port. In this case, he suggested to make a three-dimensional model of Chittagong port in the style of Antwerp seaport of Belgium. The matter was later brought up in the recommendations of the committee meeting and the port authorities were urged to prepare the model.
