Dhaka, September 26: Veteran journalist and columnist Ranesh Maitra, language warrior, brave freedom fighter, recipient of Ekushey Medal, recipient of Bashundhara Media Award for special contribution to sub-urban journalism, has passed away. He died on Monday (September 26) at 3:47 am while undergoing treatment in a hospital in Dhaka.

Dhaka, July 29: Initially, a total of 24,761 brave freedom fighters from 17 districts are getting smart ID cards and 46,803 are getting digital certificates. 19 feet high bronze sculpture of Bangabandhu to be built in Suhrawardy Udyan

Before the war of liberation started, millions of Bengalis gathered on this ground on March 7. Bangabandhu addressed the crowd. A bronze sculpture of Bangabandhu will be erected at the place of that historic speech bearing that memory. The height of this sculpture will be 19 feet 6 inches and the altar will be 6 feet 9 inches.
