30,000 houses to be built for heroic freedom fighters

Dhaka, March 3: Thirty thousand homes will be built for the indigent freedom fighters. Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs was working on the issue.

The minister was the chief guest at a discussion meeting on the occasion of the inauguration of 'Raktadhara' 71 and the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tafazzal Hossain Manik Mia Hall of the National Press Club on Tuesday (March 2) afternoon.

Mozammel Haque said the present government is working sincerely to ensure the welfare and dignity of the heroic freedom fighters and their successors. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman formed the Muktijoddha Welfare Trust in 1972 for the welfare of the heroic freedom fighters and gave a lot of property to the freedom fighters.

The Minister for Liberation War Affairs highlighted various initiatives of the present government for the welfare of the freedom fighters including increasing the allowance of the heroic freedom fighters. He said the anti-independence activists had carried out propaganda against the rights of Bengalis in various movements from 1947 to 1971 and they are still carrying out propaganda today.
