Muktijoddha ID Cards All heroic freedom fighters to be given identity cards
Own representative, Dhaka, 22 December: All the heroic freedom fighters will be given identity cards by March 26 next year, Independence Day. It will have the most modern security system in the world. To this end, the tender process has already been completed.
This was stated by Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque at a Victory Day discussion organized by Bangladesh Retired Government Employees Welfare Association in Dhanmondi on Tuesday (December 21).
The Minister said, "The government has increased the allowance of heroic freedom fighters by Tk 20,000. They will get free treatment in any specialized government hospital of the country. The present government is making all arrangements so that the heroic freedom fighters can lead a dignified life. All the indigent freedom fighters will be given houses. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has allocated Tk 4,200 crore for this."
The Liberation War Affairs Minister mentioned that the government is arranging the graves of martyred and dead heroic freedom fighters in the same pattern at district, upazila and union level of the country. The final list of freedom fighters has been prepared. Besides, Muktijoddha Complex has been set up in every district and 401 upazila of the country.
Kazi Reazul Haque, President of Bangladesh Retired Government Employees Welfare Association, Secretary General Abu Alam also spoke at the meeting.
