Services Brave freedom fighters who come to get services cannot be harassed
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 28 December 2023: Every two months, one day from 10 am to 4 pm will be allocated time for the brave freedom fighters and their family members, said the Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation, Md. Atiqul Islam
He said, I will solve the problem of brave freedom fighters. Besides, my door is always open if you have any problems.
This was said by Mayor Atiqul Islam at the reception ceremony of brave freedom fighters and martyr family members at Krishibid Institution at Farmgate in the capital on Thursday. He said, I have given this instruction to the officials so that the freedom fighters do not have to go around when they come to take any service of North City Corporation. If freedom fighters come to North City for service, they cannot be harassed. They should be listened to immediately and acted upon. If the elderly freedom fighters need it, they should go to their homes and provide services. They cannot be wasted in any work.
The mayor also said that earlier the graves of freedom fighters were kept for 10 years in DNCC. We will preserve these graveyards for the rest of our lives by showing respect to the freedom fighters. Graveyard reserved for brave freedom fighters can be reserved for free for life instead of 10 years. Freedom fighters have given our country, we will give our service to them.
Referring to the moral responsibility of honoring the brave freedom fighters, the DNCC Mayor said, "They brought freedom, if we don't honor them, then what is the City Corporation?" The freedom fighters have brought red and green flags, in the North City Corporation meeting we have decided that the roads in Dhaka North will be named after the brave freedom fighters.
