Construction of Muktijoddha Complex completed in 401 upazilas

Own representative, Dhaka, December 10: The government has taken initiative to build Muktijoddha Complex in 470 upazilas of the country. Of these, construction of the buildings has been completed in 401 upazilas. This information was given at the meeting to review the progress of implementation of the annual development program in the meeting room of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs on Thursday (December 9). Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque presided over the meeting.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, about Tk 980 crore has been spent on the construction of these complexes. Besides, construction work of Muktijoddha Complex is underway in 32 more upazilas.

It was informed at the meeting that the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has spent 20.59 percent of the allocation of the annual development program in the fiscal year 2021-22 till November. At the national level, the expenditure is about 18 percent.

It was further informed at the meeting that district freedom fighter complexes have been constructed in 64 districts. The government has spent about Tk 138 crore for this. Besides, construction of memorials and 20 museums has been completed at 156 places. Construction of memorials and 43 museums is underway at 110 places.

The Minister for Liberation War Affairs said that the projects of the ministry are related to the national consciousness. The projects have to be completed on time ensuring proper quality and transparency. The Minister urged the project managers to implement the projects more successfully in the current financial year.

Ten projects of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs are underway for the welfare of the heroic freedom fighters and implementation of the spirit of liberation war. In addition, six new projects are under process.
