March 7 declared as historic day
Dhaka, October 20: A circular has been issued declaring March 7 as a historic day. The circular was issued by the cabinet department. Earlier on October 7, the cabinet approved the proposal.
According to the circular, the government has decided to declare March 7, 1971 as the historic March 7 by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and to include the day as a Class A day in the circular regarding the celebration of National and International Day.
However, even if ‘A’ is included in the order, the general holiday will not apply to the day.
The Ministry of Culture will act as the initiating ministry to celebrate the day.
The circular states that the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs should be directly involved in the celebration of the day and the historical significance and awareness of the day should be linked to the Ministry of Education in order to properly disseminate it among the next generation.
