Muktijoddhas don't need to go to social service office for allowance

Dhaka, 22 August 2021: Heroic freedom fighters no longer have to go to the social service office for allowance.

From now on, Sonali Bank will process the honorarium instead of the Upazila Social Service Office. To this end, necessary amendments have been made in the allowance distribution policy. An online training workshop for state-owned Sonali Bank officials was held on Saturday (August 21st) to facilitate the distribution of allowances to heroic freedom fighters. Liberation War Affairs Minister AQM Mozammel Haque inaugurated the online training workshop as the chief guest.

Khwaja Mia, Secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, Managing Director and First Executive Officer (CEO) of Sonali Bank. About 2,000 officials, including Ataur Rahman Pradhan and all branch managers of Sonali Bank, were virtually involved.

The Minister for Liberation War Affairs said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, like all sectors, the heroic freedom fighters have also come under digital service. Meanwhile, allowances of heroic freedom fighters are being sent directly to bank accounts through GTP (Government to Person) system. He said that as a result, getting the allowance of the heroic freedom fighters has become smooth and easy. Since almost all the bank accounts of the honorary beneficiaries are managed in different branches of Sonali Bank, the money will go directly to the account. As a result, there will be no need to go to the Upazila Social Service Office in the process of distribution of freedom fighter allowance.

The Minister for Liberation War Affairs requested the officers and employees of Sonali Bank to serve the best son of the nation, the heroic freedom fighters with sincerity.
