PM pays homage to Bangabandhu's portrait on Martyred Intellectuals Day
Dhaka, December 15: On Martyred Intellectuals Day, tributes were paid by placing wreaths on the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
On Tuesday (December 14) morning, in front of Bangabandhu Bhaban in Dhanmondi, Sheikh Hasina first paid tribute as the Prime Minister and later as party president.
Awami League Advisory Council Member Amir Hossain Amu, General Secretary Obaidul Quader, Presidium Member Matia Chowdhury, Abdur Razzak, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Abdur Rahman, Shajahan Khan, Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Advocate Kamrul Islam, Joint General Secretary Mahbub Ul Alam Hanif, AFM Bahauddin Nashim, Dr. Hasan Mahmud, Organizational Secretary Afzal Hossain, Sakhawat Hossain Shafiq, Office Secretary Biplab Barua, and other top leaders were present there.
Earlier, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid deep respect to the martyred intellectuals by laying wreaths at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in Mirpur on the occasion of Martyred Intellectuals Day. On Wednesday (December 14) at 7 am, first the President, then the Prime Minister paid tribute to the martyred intellectuals by placing wreaths.
