Afghanistan: Blast kills Logar Governor
Logar, Oct 15 : Governor of Afghanistan's Logar province Arsala Jamal was killed in a bomb blast inside a mosque here on Tuesday, officials said.
The blast occurred when Jamal was delivering a speech to people in the mosque after performing Eid prayer.
At least 18 others have been injured in the blast.
"The incident took place when Jamal was delivering speech to the people after performing Eid prayer in the main mosque of Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital of Logar," crime branch chief Col. Mohammad Jan Abdi told Pajhwok Afghan News.
