Afghanistan: District police chief killed during clash with Taliban insurgents
Dhaka, September 30: The police chief of Kohistan district in Afghanistan's Badakhshan province was killed during a Taliban attack on Tuesday night, according to local media reports.
The insurgents attacked the district, during which three policemen, including the chief Abdul Zahir, were killed.
The clash led to loss of lives in the insurgents' camp too.
At least four Taliban insurgents were killed and five others wounded during the clash, reports said.
Three policemen also suffered injuries.
The Taliban were eventually forced to retreat, according to a police spokesperson.
Taliban are yet to comment on the report.
