Azad launches Sugoon project in Kashmir

Jammu, Nov 20: Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad on Tuesday launched ‘Suqoon’ the Wellness Project at a function.

 The project is an initiative taken by The Inner Call, Forum for Evolution, Development and Awareness and aims create a pool of mental health workers across the state.

Azad congratulated The Inner Call for taking the initiative and wished them success in achieving their aims and goals.

Minister of State for Health Shabir Ahmad Khan, who was also present at the launching ceremony, said that the state health department would
render their full support for ‘Suqoon’ Project.

Earlier Secretary, The Inner Call, Affan Yesvi informed that ‘Suqoon’ said through the project ‘Suqoon’, the Psychiatrics, Psychologists and Psycho-analysts would sensitize the people by organizing workshops, seminars and symposiums about various mental health issues and suggest
measures to overcome the stigmas attached with it.

He also informed that the project would also establish counseling centers so that counseling can be provided to deal with emotional and social trauma.
