Dhaka, June 15: Approval has been received for the resumption of five notable works which were closed in the border areas of the country. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General (DG) Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan said that this is a significant success of the border conference held in India.

The five works are - unfinished work of Ramgarh school building, installation of electricity connection in Jhalangi pocket and Bhitrabari pocket area in three bigha corridor area, preservation of Bhogai river bank in Sherpur, re-excavation of the junction of Kushiara river and Rahimpur canal in Jakiganj and paving of 1.44 km road on Bhavanipur border in Netrakona.

Briefing on BGB-BSF director general level border conference held in New Delhi, India at BGB headquarters on Thursday (June 15) afternoon. The Director General of BGB presented this information.

He said there was a mutual agreement between the two forces not to start any development work within 150 yards of the border without prior permission. A number of closed developments within 150 yards of the border have been agreed to be expeditiously resolved through joint verification.

The Director General of BGB said that the most significant success of this year's conference is that, based on mutual consent, approval has been received to start five important works that are closed in the border areas of Bangladesh. These developmental works will play a pivotal role in the socio-economic development of the people along the border.

Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan said, cross-border crime; For example, both sides have emphasized on the effective implementation of the integrated border management plan to prevent smuggling of drugs, infiltration, human trafficking, gold, weapons, fake currency notes etc. Both sides have exchanged information on individuals involved in a number of notable crimes. In this regard, both parties also agreed to immediately share the information obtained about the criminals in the field.

The two sides emphasized on continuing public awareness activities in the border areas to prevent the citizens of both countries from illegally crossing the border by violating the international border.
