Dhaka, May 1: Bangladesh has closed all borders with India due to the dire situation in India. However, in the meantime, the Indian High Commission has decided to provide services in five visa centers in Bangladesh in case of emergency. The Indian High Commission in Dhaka said this in a message on Thursday night.

According to the information message, Indian Visa Centers in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Sylhet and Khulna will provide services in case of urgent need to extend the lockdown time in Bangladesh from April 28 to May 5.

Earlier, all Indian visa centers in Bangladesh were shut down after the first round of restrictions was imposed on April 14. The Indian Visa Center was also suspended for the next one week.

There are 15 Visa Application Centers (IVACs) in Bangladesh managed by State Bank of India. They are located in Dhaka (Jamuna Future Park), Jessore, Khulna, Mymensingh, Barisal, Chittagong, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Thakurgaon, Satkhira, Bogra, Noakhali, Brahmanbaria and Comilla.

Incidentally, the Bangladesh government has closed all borders with India since April 26 due to the dire situation in Corona, which will remain in force till May 9. However, at this time, if any Indian citizen from Bangladesh wants to return to the country in case of emergency, the Indian High Commission will cooperate.
