Dhaka, February 11: The logo of Kolkata International Book Fair 'Focal Theme Country Bangladesh' has been officially unveiled.

The logo was unveiled at a press conference organized by Publishers and Booksellers Guild at Kolkata Press Club on Thursday afternoon. Dr. Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Chief Coordinator of National Implementation Committee to celebrate the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The logo has the face of Bangabandhu.

The theme of this year's book fair is 'Srijone monone manobik desh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujiber Bangladesh'.

The Kolkata International Book Fair will start on February 28 in compliance with the health rules due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The fair will continue till March 13 at Karunamayi's Central Park Fair premises. This year's book fair is being dedicated to the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh.

Distinguished guests included Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Kolkata Tawfiq Hasan, President of the organizing body Publishers and Booksellers Guild Shekhar Dey, General Secretary Tridib Chatterjee and others.

Noting that the Government and people of India are deeply involved in the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence, Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury said, "Organizing this book fair in honor of Bangabandhu is a unique part of history."

He said, "Bangabandhu seems to have emerged as an eternal inspiration in poetry, art and literature."

Thanking the West Bengal government and the organizing committee of the Kolkata Book Fair, he said, "This book fair will add a new dimension to the promotion of Bangabandhu. Bangabandhu's speech on March 7, the war of liberation, the pavilion of Bangladesh will be built using the heritage of Bangladesh."

Bangladesh Day will be celebrated on March 3 and 4 at Kolkata Book Fair. Apart from the Children's Day celebrations on March 6, the Kolkata Literary Festival will be held on March 11 and 12. Apart from the Bangladesh pavilion, the Kolkata Book Fair also has countries from Britain, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Iran and Latin America.
