Fresh snowfall in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 22: Kashmir Valley received fresh snowfall on Tuesday night.

 According to the Meteorological Department of Jammu and Kashmir, the snowfall started on Tuesday night, which is still continuing.

The Met department said the upper reaches of the Valley received over 2 feet of snow and plain reaches received 4-5 inches of snow, along with rains.

Reports reaching IBNS said that due to heavy snowfall the 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu National Highway was closed for traffic and there was heavy landslides on the road.

Reports said rail and sir services were also effected due to the snowfall.

Power supply in the Kashmir Valley has also been hit.


The government authorities said they will clear the snow from important roads in the Valley.
