Indian Army Chief in Dhaka on a 5-day visit

Dhaka, April 8: Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane has reached Dhaka. He arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday (April 8). He arrived in Dhaka on a five-day visit at the invitation of Bangladesh Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed.

Manoj Mukund Naravane is accompanied by his wife Mrs. Veena Naravane and a two-member delegation.

During his visit to Dhaka, the Indian Army Chief will pay a courtesy call on the Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army, Navy and Acting Air Force and other senior officials of the Bangladesh Army. He will also visit various military bases in Bangladesh.

Besides, the Indian Army Chief will also pay homage to the members of Bangladesh Armed Forces who sacrificed their lives in the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971 by laying a wreath at the altar of Shikha Anirban in Dhaka Cantonment.

On the other hand, he will exchange experiences in a seminar on operations in support of UN peace. Joint Military Exercise-Attend Closing Exercises, Hardware Exhibitions and Closing Ceremonies will also be attended.

According to the Indian High Commission, the visit will further strengthen the existing close and fraternal ties between the two countries' armed forces.
