Kashmir's Sadia wins gold medal in Moscow amid Russia-Ukraine war

New Delhi, March 6: Kashmiri teenager Sadia Tariq won the gold medal at the Wushu star competition held in Moscow, Russia.

According to India Today, Sadia's success in the junior level competition has put Wushu on the world map.

The championship was held in Moscow from February 22 to 28.

Sadia, a resident of Srinagar in Kashmir, won a total of three matches in the championship. In the final match, apart from Russia, she defeated rivals from Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic.

The 15-year-old has already won gold medals twice at the junior Wushu championships at the national level. She recently won a gold medal at the 20th national Wushu championship held at Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar. Besides, Jammu and Kashmir is third in the total medal tally of this competition.
