Pak floods kill 50; more rains predicted
At least 21 people died in Karachi city, while lives were also claimed from Punjab, parts of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces, said reports.
Pakistan based Geo News said over 24 people were killed since Saturday tillMonday morning.
"River Indus at Kalabagh & Chashma and River Kabul at Nowshera are in Medium Flood Level. River Indus at Tarbela, Taunsa & Guddu and River Ravi at Balloki are in Low Flood Level," said the FFB on Monday.
"Yesterday’s trough of westerly wave over Northern parts of the Country today lies over Kashmir & adjoining areas. Seasonal low lies over Eastern Iran. Moist current from Arabian Sea is penetrating upper parts of the country upto 4000 feet," it said.
The FFB said: "Scattered thunderstorm /rain is expected over Kashmir , Upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan & Northeast Balochistan. Isolated thunderstorm /rain is expected over Sindh & South Punjab."
Rainfall recorded in millimeters in the past 24 hours till 8am on Monday was charted as Turbat=46, Khuzdar=43,Shakargarh=35, Lasbela=15, Baba Shah Jalal & Chilas=14(each), Quetta (Sheikhmanda) =12, Sibbi=09, Kotnaina=08, Bahawalpur(Airport=06 & City=Trace),Cherat & Gupis=04(each),Badin & Rawalakot =02 (each), Malamjabba, Kotli, Shaheed Benazirabad & Gilgit=01(each),Karachi(
The FFB said there will be "Little Change" in weather outlook in the next 48 hours.
