Islamabad, Pakistan: Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan has recently said that corruption and sex crimes are on the rise in the country.

Imran Khan made the remarks while discussing various issues with scholars, according to The Dawn, a widely circulated Pakistani newspaper.

He said these two problems are becoming the worst in the Muslim world.

"There are two types of crime in the society — one is corruption and the other is sex crime. Sex crimes like rape and child abuse have increased tremendously in our society. One percent of such crimes come to light," he said.

The dialogue was organized by the National Rehmatul-Lil-Alamin Authority.

Imran Khan said the society needs to fight against sex crimes. Similarly, the responsibility of the society regarding corruption is to make corrupt activities unacceptable.

"Unfortunately, when there is corrupt leadership, corruption becomes acceptable in society," he said.

He said that the Muslim youth need to work hard so that vulgar and pornographic sites on the internet do not float them away.

The scholars present at the meeting reportedly spoke for some concerted action for Muslim states to counter the ill effects of modernity.

Professor Sayyed Hossain Nasr of George Washington University took part in the discussion. He said the present time is uncertain and dangerous for the youths.
