Islamabad, March 6: Political analysts, researchers and commentators in the Pakistani media have taken a tough stand on Imran Khan's visit to Russia. They are even confused about the Prime Minister's visit to Moscow on the opening day of the Russia-Ukraine war.

While other countries are monitoring the situation with integrity, Imran's visit to Russia on an emergency basis is surprising. His visit to Moscow during this period is likely to have an impact on Western countries' diplomatic relations with Pakistan.

Some analysts believe that even though there is a crisis, the government has to tread cautiously. Pakistan's national security advisor (NSA) Moeed Yusuf, however, is trying to keep the issue of the visit as purely two-way. However, political analysts have highlighted Imran Khan's bilateral visits in recent times.

They fear that his statements, like other visits, could put Pakistan in an embarrassing situation amid the Ukraine-Russia war.

During the recent Winter Olympics, the Pakistani Prime Minister had declared that China and the US share friendly relations. Earlier, he talked about building friendship between Saudi Arabia and Iran. Apart from these, the way he dragged India's name in an interview before his visit to Moscow - it can't be good.

However, the domestic media published these views as if Imran Khan's ego had been damaged and that the time of his visit to Moscow should not be extended. Pakistan's fragile economy and the state are going to face more problems due to Imran's untimely visit.

Murtaza Solangi, a prominent journalist with The Friday Times- Naya Daur, commented that anyone can see Russia-Ukraine tensions leading to a full-fledged war. Wasn't Imran Khan told that this war can be stopped and that's what it should be? Isn't it wise to do this in moscow? What kind of business can you do with Putin at the moment?

In an interview to the Naya Daur YouTube channel, Raja Rumi, a well-known TV panelist, said that Imran Khan, who was on a visit to Russia, had said that he would play his part for the friendship between Russia and Ukraine. In this he wondered, Imran Khan does not talk to the opposition in his own country, how can he talk about a compromise between other countries?
