Rahul Gandhi is fit to be PM: Moily
Mumbai, Dec 24: Union Oil Minister M Veerappa Moily on Tuesday said Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is fit to be the Prime Minister of India.
"Rahul Gandhi is the most competent leader of our country. He is fit to be the Prime Minister of India," Moily told reporters here.
"The youth of our country need a leader like Rahul Gandhi," he said.
Moily hinted that the Congress will name Rahul Gandhi as their prime ministerial candidate for the the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
"The Congress as well as the entire India wants Rahul Gandhi be nominated as the PM candidate. He has the blessings of everybody, including Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh," said Moily.
The Congress is likely to name its prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls on Jan 17.
According to reports, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) will meet in New Delhi on Jan 17 to discuss its 2014 Lok Sabha election strategy.
Sonia Gandhi will chair the meet.
