Srinagar, Jan 3: After remaining closed for three consecutive days, the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway was opened for the traffic on Friday.

Reports said that all stranded vehicles on the highway were allowed to move after clearing the snow and landslides on the road.

The highway was closed due to heavy snowfall on Monday evening.

The traffic police said that the highway was opened for one-side traffic on Friday. Vehicles from Jammu to Srinagar were being allowed to ply.

Inspector General (Traffic) Muneer Khan said: "We cleared the road early in the morning today and vehicles were allowed from Jammu to Srinagar."

He said stranded vehicles on National Highway would be allowed to move first.
