Bangladesh dominated the match from the second day morning. New Zealand all out for 328 runs after a power show by the Bangladeshi bowlers. The Tigers ended the day with 175 runs for the loss of only two wickets. Nazmul Hossain Shanto was dismissed after scoring a half century (64 runs), but Mahmudul Hasan Joy was on the wicket with 70 runs.
