Sheikh Kamal Sports Award 11 people including Liton Das getting Sheikh Kamal National Sports Council Award
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, August 4: The Sheikh Kamal Jatiya Krira Parishad Award-2022 will be awarded on the 73rd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's eldest son Sheikh Kamal on August 5.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Zahid Ahsan Russell MP will announce the names of award-winning sportspersons and organizing organizations in a press conference on Thursday.
The National Sports Council found out that 11 awards will be given in 7 categories this time. There are two organizations in the list.
The award will be formally handed over to the nominees for the award at the National Sports Council on Friday. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the event virtually.
Emerging sportspersons who are receiving awards: Cricketer Shariful Islam and Archer Dia Siddiqui; Athletes: Cricketer Liton Das, shooter Abdullah Hal Baki and weightlifter Sabera Sultana; Organizers: Saidur Rahman Patel of Swadhin Bangla Football Team and former general secretary of National Women's Sports Association Nazma Shamim; Lifetime award: Bangladesh Awami League youth and sports affairs secretary and country's veteran sports organizer Harunur Rashid; Organization: Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA); Sponsor: Green Delta Life Insurance Company Limited; and Sports journalist: Kashinath Bashak.
