Sports Correspondent, Dhaka, Nov 25: Chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu had earlier informed that they would see at least two rounds of BCL and then finalize the team. In the end, the selectors have arranged a 16-member Bangladesh team for the three-match series against India. The 16-member Bangladesh squad for the three-match ODI series against India was announced later on Thursday (November 24) evening.

There are no surprises in the team. Not even a new face. Almost all of the established performers are there. Two senior performers, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad, who were not considered in the T20 team, have also been kept.

There was no significant change in the ODI team that played against Zimbabwe last August. Shakib Al Hasan was not in that team. Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam was kept in the squad instead. Taijul did not have a place in the team for the home series with India.

Shakib Al Hasan has returned to the team. Naturally, Taijul had to leave the place. Not only Taijul, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat and pacer Shariful Islam were also dropped from the last ODI squad against Zimbabwe.

Meanwhile, the selectors did not consider middle-order batsman Mohammad Mithun and pacer Saifuddin, who are eye-catching in BCL, after seeing 3 matches of the round robin league. Incidentally, Saifuddin took 5 wickets for 30 runs in the first match. And Mithun could not win the hearts of the selectors even after scoring an impeccable century today.

Bangladesh and India will face each other in the first day of the three-match series in Sher-e-Bangla on December 4. December 7 is the second ODI at the home of cricket. And the third and last match will be on December 10; Chittagong Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

The 16-member Bangladesh squad for three-match ODI series against India: Tamim Iqbal (captain), Liton Das, Enamul Haque Bijoy, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Afif Hossain Dhrubo, Yasir Ali Rabi, Mehdi Hasan Miraj, Mostafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Ebadat Hossain Chowdhury, Nasum Ahmed, Mahmudullah Riad, Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Kazi Nurul Hasan Sohan.
