Bangladesh beat Ireland in 2nd T20, seal series
Dhaka, March 30: Registering a thumping 77-run victory over Ireland in the 2nd T20I match on Wednesday at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong, Bangladesh have sealed the three-match T20 series at home.
After losing the first match by 22 runs (DLS) on Monday, Ireland won the toss in the second game and decided to bowl first.
Batting first, Bangladesh scored 202-3 in 17 overs in the rain-hit match. Openers Litton Das and Rony Talukdar scored 83 off 41 balls and 44 off 23 balls respectively, while skipper Shakib Al Hasan made an unbeaten 38 knock of 24 balls.
Irish bowlers Benjamin White and Mark Adair took two and one wickets respectively.
Chasing a tough total of 203 runs, Ireland batsmen managed to score 125 for the loss of 9 wickets in 17 overs. Irish batter Curtis Campher scored a half century (50 off 30) with three boundaries and three over-boundaries.
Skipper Shakib Al Hasan guided Bangladesh to the massive victory with a five-wicket haul. Besides, Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud took three and one wickets respectively.
The third and last match of the T20 series will be played tomorrow (Friday, March 31) at the same stadium.
