Bangladesh beat Ireland in 3rd ODI, seal series
Dhaka, May 15: Bangladesh sealed the three-match ODI series against Ireland 2-0 defeating the Irish by 5 runs.
Winning the toss, Ireland captain Andrew Balbirnie decided to bowl first. Batting first, Bangladesh were bowled out for 274 runs in 48.5 over. Skipper Tamim Iqbal made the highest score for Bangladeshi side -- 69 off 82, while Mushfiqur Rahim scored 45 off 54. Irish bowlers Mark Adair took 4 wickets, giving 40 runs in 8.5 overs, while Andy McBrine and George Dockrell took 2 wickets each, and Craig Young took 1 wicket.
Chasing 275, Irish batters managed to score 269 for the loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs, five runs short from the target.
Irish batsmen Paul Stirling, Andrew Balbirnie, Lorcan Tucker and Harry Tector scored 60 off 73, 53 off 78, 50 off 53 and 45 off 48 respectively.
Mustafizur Rahman took 4 wickets for 44 runs, while Hasan Mahmud took 2 wickets and Ebadot Hossain, Mehidy Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto took 1 wicket each.
In this three-match series, first match was called off due to rain and in the second match, Bangladesh defeated Ireland by 3 wickets, chasing a huge total of 320 runs.
