T20 Bangladesh overcome England challenge in first T20
Dhaka, March 9: The Bangladesh batters made light work of England's 157-run target as they completed the job with two overs to spare in the first T20 match.
Earlier, Bangladesh decided to field first after winning the toss. The visiting team managed a below par score by losing six wickets.
English skipper Jos Buttler topscored for them with 67 runs off 42 balls. His innings comprised of four fours and an equal number of sixes.
Fellow opener Phil Salt chipped in with 38 runs, but made those with a strike rate of 108.
Hasan Mahmud was the pick of the Tigers' bowlers, picking up two wickets. Captain Shakib Al Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman picked up a wicket each.
Chasing the score, the Bangladeshi batsmen were quick off the blocks, but Litton Das fell early. But Najmul Hossain Shanto's knock of 51 runs off 30 balls, along with help from Shakib Al Hasan's 34 helps the hosts win it easily.
Mark Wood, Adil Rashid, Moeen Ali and Jofra Archer picked up a wicket each.
Shanto was adjudged the Man of the Match.
