Bangladesh reach final of AHF Cup Hockey

Dhaka, March 19: Bangladesh has reached the final of AHF Cup Hockey. Bangladesh beat Kazakhstan 8-1 in the second semifinal of the tournament held in Jakarta, Indonesia on Saturday afternoon. With this, Bangladesh reached the final of the tournament for the fourth time in a row. Bangladesh has also secured a ticket to play in the Asia Cup by reaching the final this time. Bangladesh has been champion three times before.

Bangladesh's Ashraful Islam has scored four goals. Khorshedur Rahman, Russell Mahmud Jimmy and Sohanur Rahman Sabuj scored the remaining two goals.

In the 7th minute, Ashraful Islam hit the drug flick after Russell Mahmud stopped Sarwar's push. The second goal came from the same combination in 9 minutes. Ashraful Islam similarly scored a goal to lead the team again.

Khorshedur Rahman scored from the penalty corner in the 34th minute, Ashraful from the penalty corner in the 40th minute, Ashraful from the PC in the 41st minute and Khorshedur from the PC in the 45th minute. Jimmy scored in the 49th minute and Sohanur Rahman scored the green field goal in the 51st minute to make it 8-0. Aman's goal in the 55th minute reduced Kazakhstan's lead to 8-1.

Bangladesh will play the final against Oman on Sunday. Oman beat Sri Lanka 2-1 in the first semifinal on Saturday to reach the final.
