Bangladesh start SAFF Championship with 1-0 win against Sri Lanka
Dhaka, October 2: Bangladesh started their SAFF Championship campaign with a 1-0 win against Sri Lanka at the Male National Stadium in Maldives on Friday.
Even though Oscar Bruzon's boys played with authority, they had to remain content with a 0-0 score at the end of the first half.
At the 56th minute, the game saw its first and the only goal, after Topu Barman converted from the penalty. It was awarded after Lankan defender Duckson Puslas handed the ball.
Not only a penalty, Puslas was given the red card amounting from two yellow cards, as it was his second card offence in the match.
Bangladesh will next play India on October 4, while Sri Lanka has a chance to add points against Nepal on the same day.
