Shakib Al Hasan Cricket: Shakib Al Hasan inaugurates Kali Pujo pandal in Kolkata
Dhaka, November 13: Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has reached Kolkata. He is staying in India for only 1 day. He will return to Bangladesh on Friday. He inaugurated a Kali Pujo pandal in the city on Thursday evening.
In Bangladesh too, several media outlets have written about the inauguration of this Kali Pujo during Shakib's visit to India.
Paresh Pal, one of the leaders of the organising committee of the pujo, confirmed this news to Bangladeshi media.
Shakib entered India through the Benapole border at around 1 pm on that day.
He also paid a courtesy call on Azizur Rahman, a well-known customs officer, before entering India.
Tight security arrangements were made at the border so that star cricketers like Shakib would not have any problem.
Many cricket fans gathered at the Benapole border to see Shakib once.
However, they did not get to meet their favorite star after crossing the security.
Shakib is very popular in both India and Bangladesh.
Though there are many restrictions on the entry of foreigners in this country, the Indian embassy granted Shakib's visa.
The Bangladeshi star all-rounder returned to cricket last week after being banned for a year by the International Cricket Council.
Jamcon Khulna has taken Shakib from the players' draft of Bangabandhu T20 Cup. If all goes well, Shakib will return to the field from this tournament organized by BCB.
