Dhaka, April 4: Ireland won the toss and decided to bat first in their only Test match of the ongoing Bangladesh tour. However, it wasn't an ideal result for the visitors.

They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for 214 runs.

In reply, the hosts have lost two wickets and are in a spot of bother at the end of the day's play. Bangladesh now trail by 180 runs.

Earlier, Harry Tector scored a fifty, before being dismissed. The Irish rode on the back of Curtis Campher (34), Lorcan Tucker (37), and Mark Adair (32) to breach the 200-run mark.

Taijul Islam was the performer of the day, picking up five wickets for 58 runs in 28 overs. Ebadot Hossain and Mehedy Hasan picked up a brace, while Shoriful Islam accounted for the remaining wicket.

Bangladesh lost both their openers- Tamim Iqbal (21) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (0) before the end of day's play.
