Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 28 November 2023: The names of Awami League nominated candidates for the 12th National Parliament elections have been announced. The party's general secretary Obaidul Quader announced the names of the boat candidates from the central office of Awami League at 4 pm on Sunday.

In the national election to be held on January 7, Bangladesh Awami League will be nominated by many well-known faces of the country's sports arena with the boat symbol. The big surprise in this election is the current captain of the national cricket team, Shakib Al Hasan. He got the nomination of Bangladesh Awami League for Magura-1 seat.

Present Member of Parliament and former captain of the national cricket team Mashrafe Bin Mortuza this time also got the boat nomination from Narail-2. Abdus Salam Murshedi, former star footballer and BFF senior vice-president and current Member of Parliament, has been nominated from Khulna-4.

Former athlete Mahbub Ara Gini this time also got a boat nomination from Gaibandha-2. Nasrul Hamid Bipu, former hockey player and director of Abahani, will contest from Dhaka-3 seat on the boat symbol.

Two former state ministers for sports Obaidul Quader and Biren Shikder and current state minister for sports Zahid Ahsan Russel have now been nominated for the boat. Obaidul Quader Noakhali-5, Biren Shikder Magura-2 and Zahid Ahsan Russel got the boat tickets in Gazipur-2 seats.

Two well-known faces in the sports field, the current member of parliament, former cricketer Naimur Rahman Durjoy and the general secretary of Chittagong Abahani and former member of BFF Shamsul Haque Chowdhury did not get the nomination of Bangladesh Awami League this time.
